The Interfaith Sun is an independent publication dedicated to sharing stories of interfaith cooperation in the United States and around the world.
Every day, people from different religious traditions—and people with no religious affiliation at all—work together, learn from one another, serve their communities, build friendships, respond to crises, celebrate, create, and solve problems. Some of these efforts make headlines. Many more happen quietly in congregations, neighborhoods, schools, nonprofits, workplaces, and community organizations.
The Interfaith Sun was created to shine a light on them.

Interfaith life is explored from many angles. Noteworthy stories about interfaith cooperation are syndicated and shared, while interfaith news from around the world is gathered in one place. Original contributions from people with stories of their own are also published. Readers will find personal essays about experiences across religious traditions, features on religious and interfaith holidays and observances, book reviews, news and developments from interfaith communities, and other resources for anyone curious about the ways religious diversity shapes our shared lives.
Attention is given to both large initiatives and small acts of cooperation. A national interfaith campaign matters. So does a synagogue, mosque, church, temple, humanist organization, or community group deciding to work with its neighbors. Sometimes the most important stories begin simply with people meeting one another.
A Constructive Approach to Religious Difference…
Religious traditions contain meaningful differences in theology, practice, history, culture, and worldview. Interfaith engagement creates opportunities for those differences to be encountered with curiosity and respect while allowing common ground to be discovered. The goal of The Interfaith Sun is not to erase difference, but to highlight what can happen when relationship is chosen over isolation, curiosity over assumption, and cooperation where common ground exists.
Readers and contributors from all religious traditions are welcome, as are people who are atheist, agnostic, humanist, spiritual but not religious, or otherwise unaffiliated.

Interfaith cooperation doesn’t belong only to professional organizations or religious leaders. Some of its most meaningful examples can be found in ordinary communities and everyday relationships. Personal essays and other contributions that illuminate interfaith experiences, ideas, initiatives, and communities are invited. Professional writing experience isn’t necessary. Sometimes a story simply deserves to be told.
